Are Missionaries Super Christians?

I recently read a book about a young woman who went to the Congo as a missionary called,  Give me this Mountian by Dr.Helen Roseveare.  She talked about what being a missionary is and what people think a missionary is in reality. Many might think that “becoming a missionary” is some kind of metomorphosis by which a radical change of nature is achieved.” Nothing can be further from the truth. The author put is simply by saying “a missionary is one sent by God to live a Christian life, usually among people other than its own.” It is living that counts. We may deal with a different culture, language, foods and lifestyle other than our own. Realizing it is not the journey in ones streamer that changes ones nature. We didn’t escape from ourselves by coming to Ukraine like the author of the book said, she didn’t escape from herself by going to the congo. Rather we came to know ourselves better by coming to the field. The trials and frustrations in life that meet all of us are just as real in the Congo, she said, the same in Ukraine in some ways more pronounced, as there were fewer ways of avoiding them.”

I have to say I can relate to this young woman in the book, Give me these Mountains. I have known since we came to Ukraine that God didn’t bring us here because He needed us but because He wants to change me and I tust I will be here as long as He chooses for His purposes to change me and use me in ways i would have never imaged.

To God be the glory, for all He has done and will do.
